[apsa_itp] PISTA in Orlando and ICEG in Montreal both lack Section Members

Dear Information Technology and Politics Section Members,

In this summer and early autumn there are two outstanding international IT conferences, the Politics and Information Systems, Technology and Applications Conference (PISTA 2007) held in Orlando in July and the International Conference on e-Government (ICEG) slated for Montreal the end of September.  These two programs are found at the links that follow.  To my surprise, I am the only section member on either program!

Those people who organize these program really do feel they are being neglected by the distinguish people who comprise the Information Technology and Politics Section.  In Orlando, we had a meeting chaired by José Vicente Carrasquero about future PISTA Conferences.  Dr. Carrasquero encouraged those attending this session to urge people who work academically with IT to consider presenting next year at PISTA.  I have been think when and how I could effectively encourage members of this organized section to consider possibly submitting a paper proposal for the PISTA 2008 in Orlando.
